Before joining WPI, I had been a research scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) since 2016. Prior to that, I was a research assistant professor in machine learning and computer vision at Boston University, working with Prof. Venkatesh Saligrama. I completed PhD study in 2013 at the Department of Computing, Oxford Brookes University, UK, supervised by Prof. Philip H.S. Torr (now in the University of Oxford). I received my master degree in Computing Science, Simon Fraser University, CA, supervised by Prof. Ze-Nian Li and Prof. Mark S. Drew in 2010. I received my bachelor degree from the school of Computer Science and Technology, Northeastern University, China, in 2005.
